PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a porphyrin metal complex comprising synthesizing the porphyrin metal complex in which platinum is inserted and complexed in a porphyrin ring by a safe and simple means in high selectivity. SOLUTION: The porphyrin transition metal complex is produced by refluxing an ammine-based transition metal salt in which the transition metal is platinum and the porphyrin using a porphyrin polymer by utilizing a polar solvent having 100-300°C boiling point under normal pressure as a reaction solvent.
