PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of microbial sludge in paper-making process and solve the problems caused by the microbial sludge. SOLUTION: The method for suppressing the generation of microbial sludge in a paper-making process comprises a step to add a dispersing agent to microbial sludge and culture the microorganism under sufficient mixing and a step to add an antagonistic microorganism to the mixture of the microbial sludge and the dispersing agent and culture the microorganism under sufficient mixing to effect the suppression of the generation of microbial sludge.
