DEVICE HAVING THE FUNCTION OF A COMPUTER MOUSE

The invention relates to a device having the function of a computer mouse. In lieu of the mouse, the user wears a headset (3) containing, among other things, a receiver for receiving infrared radiation. This radiation is emitted by an emitter (1) placed on top of the monitor (2) and is focussed by a special lens system onto one or two PSD's (Position Sensing Detectors), which generate different electric voltages according to the angle of incidence of the light. These voltages are transmitted via radio or infrared to another receiver (10) provided on the monitor and are used for displacing a positioning symbol (5) on the display screen whereby enabling this positioning symbol to be controlled using head movements. The keyboard (12) is used to fix the cursor at the location of the positioning symbol as well as to give other commands.
