This invention relates to a method and system for initiating a bootstrap on a communication terminal such as a cellular or mobile phone, a personal digital assistant, or a wireless computer. In particular, this invention relates to initiating a bootstrap on a communication terminal, which bootstrap initiation enables an operator of the communication terminal to utilise services such as provided for by wireless application protocol services, mail services, short messaging service, multimedia messaging service, or any services provided by a proxy server.
