<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize recording quality in recording to a recording medium by means of a right optimum recording power which is determined by always executing an OPC in a normal OPC area. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 10 reads out an OPC area correction parameter, which is stored in a parameter storage part 11 and preliminarily adjusted for every device, when optimum power control (OPC) is executed, and corrects the OPC area (a prescribed range) of the recording power consecutively changing in the execution of tentative writing based on the OPC area correction parameter, and tentatively writes data (information) in the PCA region (a prescribed test recording position) of an optical disk 20 by consecutively changing the recording power of a light beam within the OPC area (the prescribed range), and then determines the optimum recording power for recording the data to the optical disk 20 based on a reproduced signal obtained by the reproduction of the tentatively written data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
