PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water bottom digging system capable of efficiently and continuously digging without receiving restrictions by a place of work and water depth, ensuring work done precisely, and performing pin point digging to perform work without damaging an important structure. SOLUTION: This water bottom digging system has a pipe 15 for pumping mud in which a discharge port 15a at one end is exposed on a water surface S and a suction port 15b at the other end is positioned in the vicinity of a water bottom G, an underwater work machine 12 arranged on the water bottom G to move the suction port 15b, and a pumping means for pumping sediment above the water surface S by sucking the sediment on the water bottom G from the suction port 15b and discharging the sediment from the discharge port 15a through the pipe 15 for pumping mud.
