PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for precisely detecting conduction abnormality for an electric load device such as a glow plug of a diesel engine capable of improving possibility to detect conduction abnormality without installing special circuits and elements. SOLUTION: Generated current amount Ialt is obtained (S554, S556) by using field coil conduction duty DF, and battery charge/discharge current amount Ibat is obtained (S558) by using battery voltage VB. Since load current consumption amount Iall is obtained (S560) from these current amounts Ialt, Ibat, the conduction abnormality can be detected without installing the special circuits and elements, and the conduction abnormality for the glow plug can be detected with high-precision.
