PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tire tread that exhibits a high grip performance both in the low temperature region and in the high temperature region. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for a tire tread comprises (B) 5-150pts.wt. plasticizer having a solidifying point of≤-25°C and (C) 5-50pts.wt. resin having a softening point of 50-150°C based on (A) 100pts.wt. rubber component containing≥60wt% styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber with a styrene content of 20-60wt%. The content ratio of the plasticizer (B) to the resin (C) is in the range of 0.2-20. Preferably, the resin (C) is at least one resin selected from the group consisting of 9C petroleum resins, dicyclopentadiene petroleum resins and coumarone-indene resins or a natural resin rosin.
