PURPOSE: A start warning control device and a method of an LPI(Liquefied Petroleum Injection) engine are provided to improve startability and the life span of a battery by controlling a warning unit for inducing to make a driver hold the ignition-on state of a key switch for dead time for forming pressure of a fuel supply line. CONSTITUTION: A start warning control device of an LPI engine is composed of an operation detecting unit(110) for detecting operation states of the engine; an engine control unit(120) for controlling to improve the hot and PCD(Partial Cool Down) conditions of the engine by analyzing signals input from the operation detecting unit and generating a fuel supply control signal and a warning control signal, respectively; a fuel supply unit(130) driven to the input of the fuel supply control signal supplied from the engine control unit to supply the fuel; and a warning unit(140) driven to the input of the warning control signal supplied from the engine control unit to induce to keep a key switch(112) in a two-stage ignition on state for starting dead time.
