PURPOSE: A method for controlling operation of an air conditioner is provided to prevent waste of power by appropriately controlling driving of an air conditioner, and efficiently manage the air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: A user selects an operation restricting mode to change operation specification(100). A specific key of an operation function according to the restriction mode is inputted(110). The inputted specific key is transmitted to a microcontroller so that the microcontroller judges the input of the specific key(120-130). A temperature is set up according to desire of the user(140). Whether the user inputs a specific key number for use time restriction(160) is judged. If so, a driving time for an air conditioner is set up according to desire of the user(170).
