<p>A firing hammer with a firing pin pivots on the support for the firing device. A spring biases the hammer to the firing position. An arming lever pivots on the support and contacts the hammer so as to cock it against the action of the spring. An operating lever displaces the arming lever to cock the hammer and then free it, so that the spring drives it against the firing device. Accidental firing and weakening of the spring, which are possible in a device with a permanently compressed spring, are avoided.</p> |
