PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distribute contents requested from a user in a vehicle.

SOLUTION: An information distribution system 10 accepts a user's request from a portable terminal 50 with an Internet access function; distributes requested contents, if stored in the system, to the terminal device, or receives the requested contents, if not stored therein, from a distribution server 20 through a high speed wireless LAN when a vehicle in which the information distribution system 10 is installed stops at a station or a stop and then distributes the received contents to the portable terminal 50 which the user in the vehicle has. In this way, the contents requested from the user in the vehicle are distributed.
