PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a map easy to see for a map drawing of a wide area level and to facilitate the recognition of the degree of progress of a vehicle in a whole route process for a map drawing of a detail level. SOLUTION: In a navigation device, a whole route map extending from a start point to a destination obtained as the result of a route search is displayed, whereby the rough recognition of the route is facilitated.
