PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic wall moving magneto-optical recording medium in which residual vertical magnetizing components in an annealed region is eliminated and sufficiently wide power margin can be obtained uniformly and stably. SOLUTION: This magnetic wall moving magneto-optical recording medium is manufactured by performing a process in which a magnetic film is formed on a substrate, a process in which a laser beam is irradiated from a side at which the magnetic film of the substrate is provided and a recording track of the magnetic film is processed by annealing, and a process in which during or after the annealing process, a magnetic field being parallel to the surface of the substrate is applied to the annealing region.
