PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a satisfactory reproducing signal from a magnetic disk medium used in a magnetic disk device provided with a reproducing head fixed to a part of a rotating arm and having a magnetization pattern formed by magnetic transfer. SOLUTION: In a master carrier for magnetic transfer having a magnetic body pattern according to the information to be transferred on its surface, the upper surface of a generally parallelogrammic shape of a magnetic body element 3b which is a constituent of the magnetic body pattern is formed in such a shape that a pair of sides 33 of the generally parallelogrammic shape opposed to each other are extended in the width direction of a head gap of the reproducing head in the position corresponding to the sides on the magnetic disk medium.
