[Also in Division F2] A truck comprises two identical units A, B each having a pair of narrow gauge wheels 10 whose axles are mounted on a king-pin at 21 so as to be steerable by the tow-bar 25. The backbone 1 of each unit is formed by two superimposed boxsection members 2, 3 welded together at 4, and the units are secured together by bolting the end flanges 5 together with bolts 7. Crossmembers 37 are pivotally mounted at 35 to the backbone 1 and carry stabilizing wheels 43 and are held in position by removable pins 38. Shaped frame members may be interposed between the flanges 5 to support special loads. |
