PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which realizes the saving of a consumption power to be used for the motion of a dust removing means. and an improvement in usability by stopping the motion of the dust removing means according to the operation of a user or the state of the electric vacuum cleaner. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is equipped with an electric blower 12 which generates suction air, the dust removing means which removes dust and dirt adhered to a dust collecting means, and a dust removal stopping means 32 which stops the motion of the dust removing means 31. By stopping the motion of the dust removing means 31 according to the operation of the user or the state of the vacuum cleaner, the vacuum cleaner which has realized the saving of the consumption power to be used for the motion of the dust removing means 31 can be provided.
