PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a good-quality fluorescent lamp providing a stable emission amount of mercury when a mercury emitting member is heated by a high frequency coil. SOLUTION: The fluorescent lamp emits mercury into a glass bulb using the mercury emitting member with a solid titanium-mercury alloy applied thereto. The mercury emitting member is made of a cylinder having a nearly circular cross section. The solid titanium-mercury alloy is applied to the periphery of the cylinder. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
