Disclosed is a method for producing a band comprising a support band (11), according to which a textured metal layer (17) is created by producing a structured band (12) that is then joined in a fixed manner to the support band (11) by means of an adhesive connection (16), for example. Said band is suitable for producing a high-temperature superconductor (19), for example, by applying an intermediate layer (18) onto the textured metal layer (17). The advantage of the inventive band over conventional bands having a textured metal layer lies in the fact that the support band (11) is not used as a substrate for the textured metal layer such that said band can be formed in an inexpensive manner from a polycrystalline ceramic substrate, for example, while the costly substrate on which the textured metal layer (17) is produced can be used several times for producing the textured metal layer because said textured metal layer (17) is removed from the substrate and is connected in a fixed manner to the support band (11) after being produced. The invention makes it possible to produce in an advantageous and inexpensive manner long bands comprising high-temperature superconducting layers (19).
