METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A WEIGHT-SAVED GYPSUM BOARD

A method for producing a light gypsum board, characterized in that it comprises a step of adding in advance a void size adjusting agent being capable of adjusting a size distribution of foams dispersed in a foamed gyps um slurry to an original fluid of a foaming agent or a mixture of the original fluid of the foaming agent with water, to thereby prepare a foaming agent which forms foams having a desired size distribution. The method allows the production of a light gypsum board having a gypsum core of high strength and exhibiting excellent adhesiveness between the gypsum core and a lining paper for the gypsum board and also allows the adjustment of the size of voids in a gypsum core of a light gypsum board product within a desired range, in a sho rt time and at a low cost, even when types and the compounding ratio of gypsum raw materials are changed.
