<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for quantifying the sharpness of a digital image. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of edges of the digital image are identified, and an image sharpness measured value representing the sharpness of the digital image is calculated based on the identified edges.
