METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING INK JET RECORDING PAPER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an ink jet recording paper which hardly generates cracks in a coating film even when a coating solution containing a hydrophilic binder and a fine particle is rapidly applied to a support during manufacturing and is highly resistant to bending or the like after the manufacture and further, shows high air gap, ink absorption and resistance to water/bleeding.

SOLUTION: This method comprises the steps to form the coating film by applying a coating solution composed of a binder containing a hydrophilic polymeric compound having a main chain with a plurality of side chains and a polymerization degree of not less than 300 and the fine particle to the surface of a support and form a porous layer by giving rise to a crosslinkage between the side chains through irradiating the hydrophilic polymeric compound in the coating film with ionizing radiation.
