<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical head advantageous for improving the convenience by reducing the number of part items to expedite miniaturization, and to provide an optical disk drive. <P>SOLUTION: An optical path separation means 22 forms: a second optical path L2 for reflecting the first and second optical beams B1 and B2 made incident through a first optical path L1, guiding the optical beams through a collimator 32, a 1/4 wavelength plate 34 and a rising mirror 36 to an objective lens 14, and irradiating an optical recording medium 102 with the optical beams from the objective lens 14; and a third optical path L3 for transmitting the first and second optical beams B1 and B2 and guiding the optical beams to a place different from the objective lens 14. A photodetection means 16 for monitoring optical power is positioned on the third optical path L3, and receives the first and second optical beams B1 and B2 which have passed the optical path separation means 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
