<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter manufacturing method for forming a colored part of highly precise black matrix in an easy process. <P>SOLUTION: This color filter is manufactured through following processes: a pattern forming process for forming patterns comprising a hydrophilic region and a water-repelling region on a color filter forming substrate by irradiating energy after the color filter forming substrate and a photocatalyst-containing layer side substrate are arranged; a damping water applying process for applying damping water to the hydrophilic region; a colored part forming process for forming a colored part on the water-repelling region; and a damping water drying process for drying the damping water. The color filter forming substrate is water repellent and ink-philic, further has a wettability variation layer which is changed so that the contact angle with water is reduced by the action of the photocatalyst following energy irradiation. The wet photocatalyst-containing layer side substrate has a photocatalyst-containing layer containing the photocatalyst and a base body, and the wettablility variation layer and the photocatalyst-containing layer are disposed to have a space of 200 μm or less . <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
