<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a putter type golf club which is easy to swing and provides the excellent directivity of a hit ball. <P>SOLUTION: The putter type golf club 1 is provided with a head 3 on one end side of a shaft 2 and is provided with a grip 4 on the other end side. The total mass of the club is 510 to 610 (g), and the moment of inertia Ic of the club around the intersection P of the end face 4a of the grip 4 and the axial center line CL of the shaft is set to 2.9×10<SP>6</SP>to 3.4×10<SP>6</SP>(g×cm<SP>2</SP>).
