<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reserve resources even when requested resources can not be reserved only by IP scheduling, and to rightly notify another node of whether or not the resources are reserved in a present node. <P>SOLUTION: In the timing that a resource reservation message is received from the downstream side, when virtual transfer paths each available for transferring a packet while omitting one part of or all transfer processing of a network layer level is present on the upstream side and the downstream side of a node which receives the message and when a requested service quality indicated in the message for resource reservation can be satisfied for the first time by storing a corresponding relation of the virtual transfer paths and performing packet transfer according to the stored relation, the resource reservation message is transmitted to the upstream side after the presence of both the virtual transfer paths is confirmed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
