PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage controlled oscillator which has a small size and a large oscillating frequency variable width. SOLUTION: An LC-VCO 1 includes a negative resistance section 2, an LC circuit 4, and a negative resistance section 3. The circuit 4 has output terminals 7, 8, an inductor 9 connected between the terminals 7 and 9, and variable capacitors 10, 11 connected in series with each other in parallel with the inductor 9. Switches 14, 15 consisting of capacitors 12, 13 and a NMOS are provided in the LC circuit 4. Further, a switch 19 made of a NMOS is connected between a node N1 between the capacitor 12 and the switch 14 and a node N2 between the capacitor 13 and the switch 15.
