PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent excretal residues from being stuck to a conveyer and remaining thereon. SOLUTION: This excretal residue collecting apparatus is provided with the conveyer 2 for conveying excretal residues to the position where a storage hopper 1 is installed and a collecting mechanism 3 for collecting the excretal residues falling at the terminal of the conveyer 2 in the hopper 1. The mechanism 3 is provided with a washing mechanism 4 for dropping the excretal residues from the conveyer 2 by applying washing water to the conveyer 2, a draining mechanism 5 having a water-permeable excretal residue holding plate 50 for draining the fallen excretal residues while holding them and a drain passage 53 for discharging the water passing through the plate 50, a scraping mechanism 7 for scraping up the excretal residues on the plate 50 and a chute 8 for introducing the excretal residues scraped by the mechanism 7 into the hopper 1.
