PURPOSE: A parking brake lever is provided to prevent the braking state of a parking brake from being released although a push button of the parking brake lever is pushed down through carelessness or by a mistake. CONSTITUTION: A parking brake lever(1) comprises a support member(2) fixed to a frame of a vehicle; a rotating member(3) rotating between a braking position and a braking release position to the support member; a push button supplied to one end of the rotating member; a pawl(6) rotating to the rotating member; and a connecting member(7) extended to the pawl from the push button. A ratchet(4) is disposed to the support member. The pawl is secured to the ratchet, to prohibit the rotating member from rotating in a braking release state. The connecting member converts the pressing pressure of the push button into rotating force of the pawl. At least a part of the connecting member is a flexible cable(10). |
