Derivatives having one of the following formulas (1) and (2), wherein R<1> and R<2> are, independently, H, C1-5 alkyl or C1-5 substituted alkyl, X is selected from the group consisting of -C(=O)H, -OCH3, -C(OR)2H, -CN, -C(=O)CH3 and -C(=O)OR<7>(where R<7> is a C1-15 alkyl), are useful as fragrants.
