Procedure and apparatus for controlling the braking force on a vehicle wheel

The brake force (FRalt) and braking moment (Malt) is measured just before the gear-change. During the gear-change the clutch between the engine and gearbox or automatic transmission is disengaged and zero braking effect is obtained. On completion of the gear-change (Anschlussmoment), the clutch is engaged, and the braking force (FRneu) is rapidly built up (1.Bremsmomentgradient) to a value equal to that just before the gear-change. The braking force is now obtained with a lower braking moment (Mneu). After completion of the gear-change, the braking force and braking moment are gradually increased (2.Bremsmomentgradient) to a new high level.
