Class 98(2) A photographic silver halide emulsion containing a colour coupler contains as anti-fogging or anti-stain agent an s-triazine compound not containing mercury. The s-triazine compound may have one of the general formulae: wherein R2, R3, R6, R7 and R8 are hydrogen or halogen atoms, or hydroxy, alkoxy, aryloxy, substituted aryloxy, heterocyclyl, alkylthio, arylthio, heterocyclylthio, amino, alkylamino, cycloalkylamino, hydroxy alkylamino, sulphoalkylamino, arylamino, substituted arylamino or heterocyclylamino groups, and R4 and R5 are hydrogen or water-solubilizing groups such as sulpho or carboxyl or their alkali metal or ammonium salts. Other s-triazine compounds referred to are and 4;4<1>-bis[4;6-di(#-hydroxyethylamino)-s-triazin-2-ylamino] diphenylamine. Couplers specified for use in the invention are those in Specifications 541,589, 660,012, 674,161 and 783,730, and certain couplers in Specifications 545,448, 627,814, 649,660, 680,488, 736,922, 739,913 and 791,219.
