PURPOSE: Provided is a candle for fuming sulfur, which performs sulfur fuming necessary for the extermination of harmful insects generated from agricultural crops in a green house or a vinyl house, safely and economically. CONSTITUTION: The candle is obtained by the method comprising the steps of: heating candle wax in a container to melt it; adding sulfur powder to the wax in a liquid state and further heating the mixture to melt sulfur, so that sulfur is well mixed with the wax; pouring the mixture into a candle mold; inserting a fibrous wick(2) and cooling; and demolding the candle for fuming sulfur from the mold. When the wick(2) is ignited, solid wax(1) containing sulfur is melted and the wax and sulfur are burned simultaneously. On the combustion of sulfur, sulfurous acid gas is generated. |
