PURPOSE: A solenoid valve is provided to easily secure insulation performance of the solenoid valve without insulation-treating a coil for the solenoid valve, to prevent an outer shape from being enlarged, and to reduce the number of operation processes. CONSTITUTION: A solenoid valve is composed of a valve unit(1) having a valve member(20) contacted to and separated from valve seats(15,16) to switch a passage and a solenoid unit(2) for driving the valve member. The solenoid unit comprises a fixed magnetic pole member; a bobbin(30) having the outer periphery wound around with a coil(31); a cylindrical magnetic cover(34) for forming the shell of the solenoid unit by surrounding the peripheral part of the coil; a magnetic plate(35) installed adjacently to the bobbin in the magnetic cover; a movable core(33) slidingly inserted in central holes(30a,35a) passing through the magnetic plate and the bobbin and adsorbed to the fixed magnetic pole member; and an electrical insulating film formed in at least an inside of both inner and outer sides of the magnetic cover.
