PURPOSE: A speed-sensitive power steering system is provided to improve stability during traveling rectilinearly at high speed by light steering force of a steering wheel with applying high current from an electronic control unit to a solenoid valve during low speed traveling and by heavy steering force of the steering wheel with applying low current from the electronic control unit to the solenoid valve during high speed traveling. CONSTITUTION: A speed-sensitive power steering system comprises a power steering gear(50) having an input shaft(51) and a pinion shaft(53); a coupling unit(54) connecting the input shaft to the pinion shaft; a control valve(55) regulating flow of actuating fluid within the range from the input shaft to the pinion shaft; a solenoid valve(60) connecting the control valve to the input shaft at the side of the power steering gear; a reaction chamber(80) embedding a cut-off valve(70) at the other side of the power steering gear and connecting to the input shaft and the pinion shaft; and an electronic control unit applying current to the solenoid valve corresponding to vehicle speed.
