<p>A method and device for producing melt-spun continuous threads, whereby a thread is initially prepared according to a method known per se and subsequently compacted in order to obtain a closed threadline. A large amount of compressed air is consumed during compacting and part of the preparation agent is expelled from the thread by the compressed air and atomized. The novel method provides for a closed threadline and dispenses with the disadvantages mentioned in association therewith. Two preparations are used at a distance from each other in order to provide good thread properties during the production process. A partial amount of the preparation agent is deposited thereon. A first preparation occurs upstream from a first unwinding element. A second preparation occurs downstream from said first unwinding element, resulting in greater cohesion of the filaments in said threads. The invention is used in the production of synthetic fibers.</p> |
