<p>Feed suspension comprising fine and coarse ammonium sulfate crystals and ammonium sulfate solution (ASS) is passed into screening apparatus having chambers (1,2) separated by porous screen having sides immersed in liquid. Permeated suspension of fine crystals and ASS, and non-permeated product suspension of coarse crystals and ASS, are respectively withdrawn from chambers (2,1). A feed suspension (6) comprising fine and coarse ammonium sulfate crystals and ammonium sulfate solution (8) is introduced into a screening apparatus comprising chambers (1,2), separated by a porous screen (3). A permeated suspension comprising fine crystals and the ammonium sulfate solution is withdrawn from chamber (2). A product suspension (9) comprising coarse crystals and ammonium sulfate solution which have not been transported through the screen is withdrawn from chamber (1), and the fine ammonium sulfate crystals below a predetermined size are separated from coarse ammonium sulfate crystals above a predetermined size. Both sides of the screen are kept immersed in liquid.</p> |
