PURPOSE: A method for improving communication quality in a VPN(Virtual Private Network) using transport layer tunneling is provided to transmit a VPN data packet through the VPN set using tunneling in a transport layer. CONSTITUTION: The first transmission side generates a VPN data packet including control information having a serial number and a transmission time of the VPN data packet(101). The first transmission side transmits the generated VPN data packet(103). The second transmission side receives the VPN data packet, and measures a packet loss rate(204). The second transmission side generates a packet loss rate reporting packet including the measured packet loss rate and a time in which the VPN data packet is received(205), and transmits the generated packet loss rate reporting packet(206). The first transmission side receives the packet loss rate reporting packet, and measures a round trip delay time using the received time(107). The first transmission side calculates a suitable transmission rate in a VPN by the packet loss rate, the round trip delay time and the number of TCPs between the first and second transmission sides(108). The first transmission side decides the number of VPN data packets to be transmitted per time according to the calculated suitable transmission rate. |
