PURPOSE: A mode switch device of a magnetic record/playback system is provided to be installed under a cam gear so that it reduces the number of parts and simplifies an assembling process. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a cam gear(30), an elastic brush(40) and an FPC(Flexible Printed Circuit, 50). The cam gear(30), rotationally installed on a main deck, loads or unloads a sub deck on or from the main deck. The elastic brush(40), installed at a bottom of the cam gear(30), includes plural contact parts. The FPC(50) includes a mode sensing pattern which the elastic brush(40) contacts, and faces a bottom face of the cam gear(30). A holding groove, formed at the bottom of the cam gear(30), holds the elastic brush(40).
