PURPOSE: A safety device for a swing door is provided to automatically return the door by restoring force of an elastic rib in closing the door with releasing the door after opening the door, and to prevent breakage of a wall or a knob by excessively opening the door and restrict fingers from holding between the door and a door frame by detachably mounting the safety device to a hinge. CONSTITUTION: The safety device for the swing door comprises a frame fixing part(12) having a first upper staple-shaped fixing latch(122) mounted on the upper part of a hinge blade; a door fixing part(14) having a second upper staple-shaped fixing latch(142) installed in the upper part of the hinge blade, and a lower staple-shaped fixing latch(144) made of elastic material and fastened on the lower part of the hinge blade; and plural elastic ribs(16) connected to the frame fixing part to form the acute angle for the door fixing part and to surround the core of the hinge. The opening remaining angle is formed between the frame fixing part and the door fixing part to stop the door in automatically closing the door by restoring force to the ribs.
