METHOD FOR CONTROLLING TURBO-DECODING PERIOD IN HIGH RATE PACKET DATA SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for controlling a turbo-decoding period in high rate packet data system is provided to perform efficiently a process for decoding received sub-packets by using only one turbo decoder. CONSTITUTION: A turbo decoder performs a decoding process for a packet data channel signal according to a demodulated value when the packet data channel signal is demodulated(600-604). A period of an encoding process for an ACK/NAK response of the packet data channel signal is compared with a period of a decoding process of the packet data channel signal(606-608). The decoding process is stopped if the encoding process for an ACK/NAK response of the packet data channel signal is performed before the decoding process of the packet data channel signal(610-614).
