PURPOSE: Provided are an agent for preventing rot of bean sprouts and green bean sprouts and promoting growth of plants for hydroponics and gardening and a manufacturing method thereof. CONSTITUTION: An agent for preventing rot and promoting growth of plants is characteristically composed of 40-48 wt.% of quartz porphyry, 35-40 wt.% of silica and food additives consisting of 3-8 wt.% of sodium carbonate anhydrous, 4-6 wt.% of sodium pyrophosphate, 4-6 wt.% of tribasic sodium phosphate, 2-5 wt.% of sodium metaphosphate, and used by mixing with water.
