PURPOSE: A method for compensating the transition of the output wavelength of a light source is provided to formulate the transition state of the output wavelength of a light source through an experimental method, to estimate the transition extent of an output wavelength for varied input current by using the formula, to adjust temperature according to the estimated transition extent, and to compensate the transition of the output wavelength. CONSTITUTION: A user sets up the initial driving current and initial temperature of a light source according to a preset output light strength and a preset output wavelength(S101). The user obtains the correlation between the driving current and output wavelength of the light source at the initial driving temperature, and obtains the coefficients(a,b,c,d) of Formula 1, y=ax¬3+bx¬2+cx+d, using the correlation(S102,S103). Then the user obtains the correlation between the driving temperature and output wavelength of the light source at the initial driving current, and obtains the coefficients(e,f) of Formula 2, y=ez+f, using the correlation(S104,S105). In the case of resetting driving current, the user calculates a resetting output wavelength, based on resetting driving current, through Formula 1 and the difference between the initial output wavelength and the resetting output wavelength, based on the initial driving current. Then the user calculates the resetting driving temperature based on the wavelength difference and resets the driving temperature(S107-S111).
