FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; production of low-alloyed structural steels for operation in form of welded structures at negative temperatures under unfavorable atmospheric conditions. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes melting of metal in steel- making unit, blowing metal with oxygen, flushing oxidizing slag for obtaining content of carbon in metal of 0.15-0.20%, supplying nickel oxide at rate of 9-11 kg/t of metal and smoothly distributing it over surface of metal supplying manganese-containing oxide material and lime every 1.0-1.5 min after supply of nickel oxide for obtaining basicity of 1.5-1.7 and supplying oxidant. Used as oxidant is mixture of aluminum and calcium carbide at content of aluminum no less than 50%. Blowing with neutral gas is performed in bubbling mode. It is good practice to use sinter and/or concentrate and/or ore as manganese-containing oxide material. EFFECT: minimizing of non-metallic inclusions and high degree of desulfurization. 2 cl, 1 ex |
