FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing culture from feces sample in isotonic sodium chloride solution. The produced suspension is inoculated on nutrient agar and incubated. Grown up bacterial colonies are counted and treated with chloroform. The second layer of nutrient agar with Escherichia coli test culture is poured and the preparation is incubated once more. Bacterial colonies of colicinogenous activity are determined as those occupying zones showing no test culture growth. The colonies are counted. Percentage of colicinogenous activity colonies number relative to the number of those of increased size being greater than 45%, gastrointestinal tract inflammation diseases is to be diagnosed.
