FIELD: nuclear power engineering; manufacture of fuel elements for nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: automatic device designed for marking plugs of fuel element for VVER-1000 and VVER-440 reactors has pneumatic cylinder rod feeding plug to marking position with conical end in which cone base diameter equals diameter of blind hole in plug body. Mounted coaxially to collet chuck in front of its entry part is bushing with aligning entry conical hole that follows cone of plug body; marking mechanism is connected to computer incorporating units that function to execute marking settings, to control all mechanisms of automatic marking device, and to certify each lot of fuel element cans with plugs.
