Arrangement for a rolling mill cylinder characterised by a circumferential flange extending radially from the cylinder journal, the journal being close fitted with a bearing and bearing support; a spacing ring is mounted on the journal between flange and bearing with a peripheral rim extending radially and shaped to conform to the adjacent cylinder journal flange and in rubbing contact with the bearing support. One at least of the surfaces of the journal flange and spacing ring rim is shaped to define a circumferential groove in which an elastic seal is fitted to form a seal between the adjacent surfaces of the cylinder journal flange and spacing ring. |
