PURPOSE: A method for communicating with an active/standby dual board using multi-cast is provided to communicate with the variable active/standby dual board without adding a routing board by using a multi-cast method when an ID of each board is used on the bus mode communication. CONSTITUTION: Checking a state of the board to transmit data, an active board is registered as a multi-cast number 0 and the standby board is registered as the multi-cast number 1(ST13,ST14). After registering the multi-cast number of the boards, the multi-cast number of a transmitting board is registered(ST15). After registering the multi-cast number and confirming the state of the board to transmit the data, the data is transmitted to the multi-cast number 0 in the case of the data transmission to the active board, and the data is transmitted to the multi-cast number 1 in case of the data transmission to the standby board(ST19,ST20). After transmitting the data, the state of a receiving board is discriminated. In the case of the active board, the data is received if the multi-cast number is 0(ST21). In the case of the standby board, the data is received if the multi-cast number is 1(ST24).
