PURPOSE: Provided are a feed formulation for breeding the laying hen using gulfweed and an egg produced by feeding the feed formulation. The produced egg has high content of chitosan, excellent freshness, and a thick egg shell without an eggy smell. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a feed formulation for breeding the laying hen comprises the steps of: drying gulfweed to a moisture content of 12-25% and pulverizing it; and adding 3-12 wt% of the pulverized gulfweed to the conventional feed formulation for the laying hen and mixing them. An egg is produce by feeding the feed formulation to a laying hen 3 times/day. The egg contains 4-6mg/g of chitosan.
