PURPOSE: An exhaust system for a vehicle is provided to make the best use of space in the vehicle body by placing the exhaust pipe in the frame, to prevent damage of the exhaust pipe and a muffler by arranging the exhaust pipe and the muffler higher than the bottom of the frame, and to decrease air pollution from exhaust gas by filtering soot from exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust system for a vehicle comprises an exhaust pipe(1) connected to an exhaust manifold to discharge exhaust gas from an engine combustion chamber through the exhaust manifold out of the vehicle body; a muffler(2) installed in the exhaust pipe to absorb noise of exhaust gas flowing through the exhaust pipe; and a filtering unit(3) installed in the exhaust pipe to filter soot from exhaust gas. First and second exhaust parts(10,11) of the exhaust pipe are arranged in a frame(4) forming the vehicle body to prevent damage against external impact, and elastically supported in the inner wall of the frame by buffer supporting units(40).
